I'm not sure if this is a Htop or more of mem issue. But I fear that it really is a mem issue.
I've installed htop which is really cool and I keep it running in my Yakuake.
But I've noticed that mem usage bar behaves strangely. Here's the screenshot:
Even though I Htop shows that mem usage is cca 400 mb it's bar is "full".
I've also noticed that some apps (namely Dragon player(KDE)) need a lot of time to start.
That lead me to believe that I might have a real mem problem. I will do a memtest, but I just want to be sure if this isn't due to something else.
So do you experience same behaviour from htop?

We just happen to have a brand spanking new wiki entry on this subject! This should clear it up for you. If it doesn't, post any questions that you have back here:

Oh my, I love whoever thought of that idea. It is quite a common, and reasonable, question.
Edit: Wait, let me guess - was it Berticus?

I knew that Linux is caching in mem, but I forgot about it.
I ran free -m and got this:
free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 2026 1963 63 0 49 1424
-/+ buffers/cache: 489 1537
Swap: 258 16 241
But then my system should fly with 1424mb cached. But it doesn't feel like it .
OK nothing wrong with my mem then and htop just shows all that cached things in orange part of bar which is "bigger" than the whole bar.
understood. Don't know how I could forgot about caching. Or more accurately never thought that it's so "violent".
Sorry for bothering you I should give Wiki a try first.

I was just glad to point to the wiki article for the first time. It was written by pointone and is very new.
