Yes, I think 2.26.30 fixes this. However,  the workarounds I've seen aren't too draconian - mainly setting the nodelalloc mount option. That'll go into effect my next boot; I installed ext4 as my / fs the last week of Dec. The 'typical' things have happened since then - a few hard lock-upd, one or two power losses.

Total (known) lost or corrupted data to date: NONE.

Performance isn't that fast (a bit slower than the mature ReiserFS install which preceded it.). Difference when handling large # of small files is (of course) noticeably faster on ReiserFS.
