CPU in constant use on new install

After reinstalling my system and putting on xfce, I've run into a problem.  The CPU is in constant use, even when the computer should be idling.  The fault is with a process called menu-cached, as seen in the code quote below.  Is anyone familiar with this process?  I would imagine it has something to do with the xfce menu, but I've never had this problem before.
