1) Why ALSA sounds lower than OSS4 (or Windows)? Is it technically hard to raise the gain? I don't want to start a flamewar, but the reason that I use OSS over ALSA is that I can play the guitar while listening to music and actually hear both. OTOH, I can't record using Ardour with OSS, so I have to keep changing them: one for day to day use, and other only when I'm going to record.
2) Why somethings are "random"? E.g. the udev time for this boot was 1438ms, probably next time it'll be different. Or the PID of the processes, they usually change from one boot to other, even if I run the same commands in the same order.
3) Is 14 random?

There a speed up tricks for the second question where you load udev faster in rc.sysinit and the time it takes is either 1ms or 2ms.

My question is not about how to speed up, but why the udev time changes every time I boot, even if I keep the packages installed the same.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but (rather unscientifically) I've noticed that the udev time is lower when the computer has just been turned off or rebooted. The time also changes with kernel and udev updates.
