Abiword using weird fonts in the ruler

When I launched Abiword, I got this (look at the ruler):

How can I fix this?

Weird, these ought to be just numbers only.
Just guessing:
Check your character sets installed.
Which WM/DM? Which abiword version?
Does disabling/enabling the rulers change anything?
