Multiple X devices using multiple drivers

I recently installed Arch on a USB key and it works great... on my laptop only. I'd like it to be portable, however it seems like it only supports 1 video driver at a time. My laptop has an Intel video card, and Arch works great with the intel device configured in xorg.conf. How can I install multiple video drivers and let X automatically detect the video card and use that, so my USB key will run practically everywhere?

Thanks.

Re: Multiple X devices using multiple drivers

X server is capable of autoconfiguring itself when there is no /etc/X11/xorg.conf, maybe you can try that ?

It works only with recent versions of xorg (mine is 1.5.3 and it has the feature) and I think it will not work on all hardware and maybe not the way you want (choosing a driver when there is serveral available, eg nouveau/nv/nvidia).
