[CLOSED] ffmpeg2theora to convert RMVB to OGV ?

I have tried several times to convert RMVB to OGV by ffmpeg2theora with success. However, the produced OGV plays so slow (not flew as the original RMVB at all !) in mplayer or xine-ui, and pictures get a little fragile. In a word, it is no worth to watch!

(I also tried under windows xp, same problem.)

Any good solution ?

Below is how I convert:
$ ffmpeg2theora -v 3 --async gundam_seed_01.rmvb

I really loves ogg, so I want to convert my movies in RMVB to OGV.

Try handbrake (current version now understands non-DVD sources as well) or VLC (it's not just for watching, but can convert video as well).

Encoding video is hard. Most videos will work with some tools, and not so well with others. You'll probably need to keep several different tools around if you want to do this on a regular basis.

I have watched OGV using vlc under windowsxp. Movie become frames, one frame, then another. I doubt whether I have done something incorrect in converting process, maybe the parameters.

If you think that you're settings may be bad, try without them and see what happens:

ffmpeg2theora gundam_seed_01.rmvb

Also, I've never used ffmpeg2theora before, but I believe that you want to have sync and not async if you're having A/V sync issues. I'm not sure that's your problem, but it may be.
