KDE slow without Oxygen

Hi,
I have noticed that my kde is very slow if I don't use Oxygen. Even with QtCurve the entire system is slower than before.
I have a macbook (1st gen).

Tnx for your help..

I noticed that to a while ago. I tend to blame the other style devs because they haven't done well the programing. With Sculpture the thing works  fast as well as with gtk+ (which runs your kde/qt apps with a gtk theme)

What do you mean by "slow"? QtCurve works fine for me here.

Open a folder with some pictures and the preview mode on. Try to scroll down and see what happens. The same happens on digikam or even in regular emails on kmail
