Is there any reason why kernel26-one-dev choose to build "pciehp" and "pci-hotplug" as module, instead of static?

hi i have the AAO zg5 and i have a problem with x, basically im forced to use hotplugging because if i set it to false the keyboard doesnt work, i tried setting the "device" option in xorg.conf to /dev/input/event1 but that didnt work...
well using hotplugging is not that bad because i was able to change the layout of the keyboard changing the defaults of the hal policy but i want to use a higher resolution and i think the only way to do that is setting it on xorg.conf (and xorg.conf doesn't get load when hotplugging is enabled, correct me if im wrong
) or is there any other way to use a "virtual" higher resolution? like another hal policy?

i think you should be able to change it with xrandr, very simple programm that can do a lot ![]()

can someone using hotplugging post the fdi file for the touchpad? On mine, the vertical scrolling is very flaky, much less reliable than when i was using an xorg.conf. The horizontal scroll is fine though.
Xorg.log says it is being used.

Hi.
I have this AAO 150 with built in 3G modem. Kernel 2.6.30 will include the module qcserial, which is needed for that piece of hardware. Also there is a firmware loader around: http://www.codon.org.uk/~mjg59/gobi_loader/ . How about including the module and the loader into the custom kernel package? ![]()

well xrandr tells me the max. res is 1024x600 so i think it looks on the xorg.conf made by hal =/

Hey all, I just would like to have some advice with regards to a minimal xorg.conf on my AA1.
So far here's what I got:
Section "ServerFlags"
Option "DontZap" "false"
EndSection
Section "Module"
Load "dri2"
EndSection
Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "intel"
Option "Clone" "true"
Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS,VGA"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
# Option "AccelMethod" "exa"
EndSection
Section "DRI"
Mode 0666
EndSectionThanks ![]()

Hi all!.... maybe is a stupid question, but... Is there any problem if use the -ARCH kernel instead -one, -one-dev or -oneice??
I really know is necessary to change kernel on AOA150 ZG5....... Thanks!
PD. Sorry about my English

Thnx for your answer!.... now i have another question...
I install xorg with hotplugging, now i probe with minimalist options on xorg.conf, here is:
Section "Module"
Load "synaptics"
EndSection
Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "intel"
Option "Clone" "true"
Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS,VGA"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
EndSectionI only copy 10-keymap.fdi and 11-x11-synaptics.fdi, the keyboard is "ok", but the mouse dont work..... i tried differrents 11-x11-synaptics.fdi, but nothing happends...
any suggestions? Thnx!

Any ideas how to enable twofingerscrolling on the AA1 when kms is enabled? KMS seems to work fine on my AA1 using the stock kernel atm..:)

for minimalist xorg.conf with hotplugging, i use just none
i get better performance letting hal handle everything, so my xorg.conf is just empty, intel driver is loaded by default, synaptics as well, so just configure everything through policy files, should work flawlessly
for the synaptic policy there is an example on the 2nd or 3rd page, maybe try that one

the problem with hotplug is that i cant get more than 1024 x 600 (and i think i may be able to get more virtual res), but besides that, hal does a great job and changing the layout of the keyboard (for us who dont have an english keyboard) is not really hard

Hi all! the problem with mousepad is solved... but is strange, the mousepad was off for some reason.... i solved with setkey codes.... thnx!

It's been for a while. I'm currently in progress of compiling a new kernel26-one-dev based on the fresh 2.6.30-rc4-git3. Unfortunately the led patches don't apply to the latest kernel tree anymore. I do have a small bonus though. I finally managed to get my "fifo_batch" patch working, so it should improve the SSD responsiveness a bit.

could you enable nfsd? i use it a lot to sync bewteen my desktop and the AAO
also, to anybody who can help, looks like i can't use xrandr in my AAO for example i tried to turn the screen to the left but the monitor fills with artifacts and still dont know how to use a resolution bigger than 1024 x 600
thanks in advance

Enable, in what way? NFS client support is enabled, as I do use NFS as well on my network. In my opinion, however, having NFS daemon support on the kernel is out of the scope of the kernel as it's targeted for "laptop" use, not server
But hey, nothing is stopping you from editing the config yourself and just copying it over everytime you re-compile your kernel.

yeah i meaned like server, you got my scratching my head like two hours about why the daemon didnt start xD ahahaha well im actually using a binary version of your kernel that you posted in the other thread, because when i tried to compile the aur version i got a kernel panic... still i will give a shot to the last version you are doing ^^

mine are different too, dunno what modell you have but my keycodes changed by the newer xserver and maybe by not using an xorg.conf, not that much of a big deal changing some .xmodmap or anything anyways, also if you never touch them you can just ignore them!

I've tried that, but no success unfortunately:
* The two amixer commands work.
* alsamixer works
* aplay works, but I can only hear the sound on my headphones when I plug them in. When nothing's plugged in, no sound is played on the speakers.
* alsaconf does not do anything (cannot find PnP or PCI card).I am having this problem as well, has anyone solved this?
I'm still having the same problem, even after adding the two option lines mentioned here.
(Currently using kernel26-one-dev 2.6.29rc8git1-1)
Edit:
Hmm, someone just pointed me to Ubuntu's Aspire One page, which says (emphasis mine):
Audio [ semi-working (output only), internal mic DOES NOT WORK on 2.6.27*; mic can be fixed by updating alsa; audio output over speakers broken since kernel 2.6.27.7; ]
