Solved, 64 bit boot problem

I've just installed arch 64bit. when I try to boot I get /grub and I can't get any farther ?

What happens then? Do you have items in the grub boot menu? What happens when you try and boot? Kernel panic?

So... you don't even see a grub menu? Maybe try reinstalling grub from the livecd.

I would think there's something wrong with your menu.lst file... You can boot into the LiveCD, mount the partition containing /boot, and edit /boot/grub/menu.lst
