pcmanfm problem after gnome update

after today's pacman -Syu :

I can no longer execute any program through pcmanfm, for example I cannot open an .ogg with mplayer, or a .jpg with mirage, etc.
Seems like pcmanfm can't find any executables.

Everything seems fine in nautilus, except the fact that I lost the ability to "open terminal here"(even though I still have the nautilus-open-terminal plugin installed).

Anybody else with similar issues?

Re: pcmanfm problem after gnome update

Could it be WM/DE dependent? It works here flawlessly in IceWM.

To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

Re: pcmanfm problem after gnome update

@L0cutus

same here, pcmanfm works fine when started from the command line, but otherwise sometimes it even causes my system to freeze...

@bernarcher

you're right. It must be DE dependent, and I "blame" the latest gnome updates for it.:P

Too bad, cause I prefer pcmanfm over nautilus, but I must keep gnome fot the whole family's convinience!

about freezing:

Try this: go to Gnome menu, browse to pcmanfm launcher, right-click --> "Add this launcher to desktop".

Now open newly created launcher with text editor and change StartupNotify from true to false. Save, exit and try to run this launcher. If it is OK and better, make a permanent change to /usr/share/applications/pcmanfm.desktop. Although, I don't know whether it is going to be overwritten by the next update.
