Sound keyboard control

How do I seletc PCM and headphone to control from my keyboard buttons? I use to have a way in system>preferences>sound but it's not there anymore?

Its functionality is now (as of ver. 2.26) merged with the volume control applet. It's not the same, though, there's only an extra "sound theme" tab.

What a shame! Now how do I select which tracks to control from my keyboard? Must they mess up a perfectly working thing?

Maybe if I can make master control actually control the sound instead of headphone and PCM, I can fix it?
