Steam issues with Crossover and Arch

Post I put in #crossover, no replies though:

: Does anyone know why when I run steam, the app is in my task bar on linux, but the window doesnt show up, its like transparent, and only comes up if I turn off compiz, I heard of modifying the shortcut ti replace the desktop manager ?

: or is there a place to tell it something so when it runs it doesnt try to draw or not draw the window?

Can anyone tell me how to fix this either in Crossover Games config , or via a modified shortcut?

help please.

Thank you,

Mikeyd

Re: Steam issues with Crossover and Arch

yeah compiz screws up most those wine spinoffs. I heard they were doing a completely new ui system for wine a long while back. Anyway what you posted is a bit void of lot of info like what taskbar are you using? what xorg info you got?

Re: Steam issues with Crossover and Arch

Get the compiz-fuision icon for easy access to on/off functions. Turn off compiz before you run any games then switch it back on when your finished. Seems the easiest solution to me.
