HP Deskjet F4210

At "HP Linux Imaging and Printing" site, says both the printer and scanner work in main distros, except Slackware. Does it in Arch with the "hplip" and "gutenprint" packages?

Re: HP Deskjet F4210

My gf's got a HPD F4210. Install hplip for printing; scanning works perfectly too, follow this guide: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sane , you don't have to care about the firmware part in the guide.

Re: HP Deskjet F4210

Also the indication that it does not work in slackware seems odd. Perhaps slackware does not provide official packages for hplip (not sure), but manual compilation is always a breeze in slack, and unofficial packages are always at disposal.
