Why you Need it On Arch?

What's a better antivirus anyway? As long as it's up-to-date...

Well, I really do wish I could help ya. But well, its Linux, and I don't look up AV software, Linux don't get viruses as long as it is up to date. I have heard good about Clam though... Sorry I was of no help.
Meh has new account! This one left behind for history's sake...

In my former LFS systems I did use antivir for several years. It usually was kept up to date several times a day.
Since being on Arch I tried clamav (because it is open source) for a week or two but had not been really convinced. I did finally remove it because I do not really need an antivirus any more.
Based on these experiences I would recommend aur/antivir, even if it is not open source.
To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.
