I've searched the forum but not found what I'm looking for. I'd like to invest in a television card (internal) or one that connects via USB. I'm running Arch 64-bit on an AMD Athlon dual.
I'm looking for recommendations on hardware that works successfully with Arch. All suggestions, links to posts I didn't find, your experiences, software, etc., are most gratefully welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I have a Hauppauge Nova-T 500 PCI.
It's a dual tuner card and was incredibly easy to get going under ArchLinux - more easier than Ubuntu. All you do is download http://www.wi-bw.tfh-wildau.de/~pboettc … 00-1.10.fw and rename it to 'dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw'. Place it in /lib/firmware and shutdown your system (a reboot won't work) and then boot back up again and it's done.
Then you can configure MythTv or whatever you want to use to watch the TV and record with.

I run 2 pcHDTV 5000 cards in my dual cord Athlon 64 system. Been running them in this system for about 6 months and the previous server for another 1.5 years. I havn't had *any* problems and they 'just work' with Arch and MythTV.
www.pchdtv.com is where they can be found.
