No Sound After Update (creative x-fi)

So, I just updated last night and part of the update was a kernel upgrade. Now today sound doesn't work. There are different options in my Alsamixer so I think it is using my on board sound. I still have the module in my rc.conf and I didn't change anything to do with sound. Sound doesn't work in MPD, VLC or youtube.

I am using a creative x-fi extreme gamer.

EDIT: My on board sound IS working.

Recompile your driver if you got the files from the creative site.

I should have added you'll have to do so every time you update the kernel. It sucks but its the only way your driver will then recognise your device again as it compiles against your kernel and associated modules. Let us know if it works & mark as solved if it does.
