Can you Put a SATA II SSD in a Laptop with a Regular SATA HDD?

I am thinking about boosting my Arch64 performance on my laptop with a new SSD.

I have this laptop: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=co … tnG=Search
And I am thinking about getting this SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6820227393

My question is, will that SSD work in my laptop? The SSD is SATA II but the laptop currently has a regular SATA HDD (the one it came with). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Depends on the controller. SSD drives can be finicky and you will likely be limited to SATA I 150 if it works at all.

Arch Linux + sway
Debian Testing + GNOME/sway
NetBSD 64-bit + Xfce

Yeah; the more I read about it, the more I'm thinking I won't be able to get the 250 MB/s speeds the best SSDs can do, in my system. No big deal; my current hdd is not bad. Thanks!
