[solved]DHCP time out problem

Today when I am trying to reinstall Arch i686, when I set up the network by DHCP, it kept failing, it said:

eth0: waiting for carries
eth0: time out

when I do dmesg in another console, it shows:

eth0: no link during initialization.

The strange thing is that I have been using this same USB installer to install ARCH on the same desktop for many times, but today it suddenly stopped working!  But when I boot back to the Arch, which I planned to replace by a fresh install, the network there works just perfectly! I change the wires, and tried using CD installer, the same thing happen.

I googled but find no usful infomation. Some one please help, great great thanks!
sad:(:(:(

Re: [solved]DHCP time out problem

solved, in the end, it's caused by the KDE4 that somehow it disable the wol feature of the NIC, so simply issue:

sudo ethtool -s eth0 wol g

big_smile:D
