Package changelog info [SOLVED]

One thing I miss from Slackware is an explanation in a changelog of why a package has been upgraded. For example, today there were two successive updates to the krusader package. I'd be curious to know why the second one was necessary.

Is there a place where this info is already recorded? If not, is there a place where it could be recorded?

Or do others think this would be an unnecessary burden on package maintainers?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Some packages have changelogs included, if they exist you can get them with pacman -Qc [pkg name], but this isn't there for most packages.

Re: Package changelog info [SOLVED]

Thanks, wonder and mcmillan, for the helpful info. I hadn't known about the -c option for pacman. I'll be using that a lot, I'm sure.

And I made my first visit to http://repos.archlinux.org/viewvc.cgi/. It looks like this will at least show the changes between new and old PKGBUILDs, which will generally satisfy my curiosity, I imagine. Thanks a lot for this tip.

The more I know, the more I know that I don't know.
