DWM nmaster question

so i recently figured out that the way to have mutliple tiles in the master are is to use the patch nmaster, problem is that the latest nmaster patch is for 4.7 and im running 5.4
does anyone know of a patch that does this for 5.4 or an nmaster for 5.4? this is the only feature thats troubling me about dwm at the moment i may even downgrade if i have to

Re: DWM nmaster question

This is the wrong place to ask. Try the dwm mailing list or IRC channel.

Re: DWM nmaster question

There are directions on how to apply patches on the dwm wiki.  Save that attached code as a .diff and follow the instructions found there.

archlinux - please read this and this — twice — then ask questions.

Re: DWM nmaster question

I wanted to try this anyway, so i cleaned the patch from here and it works fine for me.

new patch is here
new stock config.h you you should start with is here unless you want to change the keys and other stuff in your old config.h

patch -p1 -i ../nmaster-5.4.patch
alt+shift  h and l swaps from and to master area in that config.h and it defaults to 2 windows in master.

/edit later in the duscussion they are changing more things, this is just the first patch that was posted.

Re: DWM nmaster question

Droog, are you going to submit to the ML?

I'm not on the ml yet, I've only been using dwm for 2 days.

I got it off their ML, the only things i fixed was it was malformed in like 5 places and was supposed to be applied after 2 other patches the op uses so it failed, I just made it apply to vanilla 5.4, not sure if they would want it on their list.
