udev doesn't load modules

Hi,

I upgrated my archlinux yesterday and one of the new packages was xorg 1.6. I didn't realised that xorg was in the list and it couldn't be installed properly becouse it was running at same time. I fininshed the instalation process without xorg enabled but when I restarted the system, the xorg.conf didn't work for the new xorg version. The mouse and the keyboard didn't work, and trying to fix it I reseted the computer to many times and something wrong happened...

Now the udev do not work properly and do not load all the necessary modules. I takes only 200 ms to load the modules. For example the sound works but neither the network nor the clock of the system. I can't show you any reslult becouse the network doesn't work.

The hwd command can find all the hardware but it suggests "module: -" for some harware like network.
The lspci can find the hardware as well.

Any idea?

Thanks

Re: udev doesn't load modules

This isnt windows tongue. It doesnt matter that xorg was running... running processes are in memory and updates dont take effect untill you reload them or reboot.

No idea whats wrong, but my guess is... check for .pacnew's and if you are using any drivers from aur or elsewhere they need rebuilding for new kernel releases.

Re: udev doesn't load modules

Solved

during the instalation kerner26-firmware and kernel26-...29.1-3 should be instalated. But when the xorg crashed the kernel26-firmware was instaled but not the kernel26-...29.1-3, however the mkinitcpio was executed succefully.
