compiz-fusion problem - some tweak I need to enable?

I installed compiz-fusion as-per the wiki article and most everything works just fine.  I have an odd behavior however when I'm in a gnome-terminal and I move around with the arrow keys when I'm using the compiz WM with Emerald.  For example: I'm using nano on a text file and I arrow key down, I can see the black box cursor leaving a trail.  Is there some tweak I need to enable to remedy this behavior?

My compiz settings:
[X] Loose binding
[ ] Indirect rendering

This happens to me on my nvidia card when I have loose bindings enabled. Try disabling it and see if it still does that.
