since last full system update firefox is not detecting any plugin. I am using 64 bit arch. I have firefox 3.0.8-1 and flashplugin 10.0.22.87-1

It is all running perfectly here.
Is the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so still there?
What does about:plugins in firefox tell?
Did you relogin after the update?

This shouldn't be necessary.
You could try setting up another firefox profile and check whether the flash plugin is recognized whithout this symlink (about:plugins).
Otherwise set up another user, just for testing, and check from there.
And, of course, try reinstall firefox and/or flashplugin.

@jaideep_jdof did you read skottish post? you don't have to do any symlinks.
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
