[SOLVED] Command to check hard drives after power loss?

I let my laptop's battery run to empty, and in doing so, didn't shut down nicely.

Restarting, and all is fine, but I got a 'filesystem is not clean' warning on boot.

I'm using ext3 and reiserfs partitions on the drive.

Should I just run fsck, or do I not need to do this since all partitions are journalled?

Can't talk about reiserfs as its been years since I've used that, but I have had to run fsck.ext3 before in the same situation you mention.  Won't do any harm to do so.  Obiviously make sure the partition in question in unmounted beforehand

fsck them if you want to be sure, but they will come up clean anyway after the next correct shutdown.

If this is likely to happen again, set up your power management to shut down cleanly when the battery goes below a certain level.
