Icons in desktop folder belongs to root not to user

Hi,

When I drag and drop icons from K menu to Desktop Folder they belong to root not to user as espected. I can't rename them etc. When moving cursor changes its apperance to black. I'm in such groups:

dbus hal audio optical storage [user]

Is it case of policy or something else?

Have the root user enter these commands fro whatever ur username is...
chown -R (your username) /home/(your username)
chgrp -R (your username) /home/(your username)

Thanks, but is there some way to make it automatically? As I'm making shortcuts not being root user they shouldn't belong to root.
