by lean i mean a minimum kde desktop without too many kde softwares installed

kdebase comes with basic kde apps, like konqueror, dolphin and konsole, etc.. in order to use the kde desktop with that, you'd need to install kdebase-workspace, as well. this ends up being about a 500mb installation. i usually use openbox, so i already have things like gimp and vlc installed and i prefer cplay to any of the major audio players.
