KMS seems conflict with DirectFB

Commonly, when arch boots, one or two blue arch icons appear on the top of the screen. However, when I enabled the KMS (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 65#p522665), the icons disappeared. And as a result, I cannot login with Qingy. The screen is just black. But slim, gdm, etc. can work with the KMS.

So I'm thinking that KMS may conflict with DirectFB. Any ideas?

And any help will be appreciated.

---------
Kernel version : 2.6.29.1-4
xf86-video-intel: 2.6.3-3
with: G45 intel chipset (4500MHD graphics card).

----------
[edit] I find that when Kernel Modesetting (KMS) is enabled, something like intelfb will be loaded. So, maybe intelfb conflict with directfb.

Re: KMS seems conflict with DirectFB

Afaik the problem is that DirectFB uses the FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO ioctl to set
the video mode on the framebuffer device, but under intelfb with KMS this always fails.
