scim and uim in [extra] [solved]

Both scim and uim (and their related packages) are currently orphaned and outdated. I uploaded new PKGBUILDs to AUR two months ags, but was told this was wrong [1], so I'm asking here for the proper way to handle this. While reading up on this, I got conflicting advice, so I decided to ask here first. Should I open a bug report? Post them on the mailing list? Something else?

As I'm a frequent user of at least scim and scim-anthy, I could test and update those. I also maintain all of them locally right now. There are pretty much only small bugfix releases nowadays, so this should not be an issue. It'd probably a good idea to remove them from [extra] if nobody maintains them there.

Re: scim and uim in [extra] [solved]

Post a working/tested PKGBUILD on the ML. In this special case, as they are orphan, a bug report would be acceptable too. A dev (maybe myself as I updated them the last time) will update it.  We would like to keep i18n packages like these in the repo as much as we can.  The problem is that no devs or TUs uses them.

Re: scim and uim in [extra] [solved]

BTW, I've removed the duplicates packages from AUR.

EDIT: For this time, if you send me an updated PKGBUILD for scim, I will update it.
