Edit Grub Screen Not Menu.lst

I noticed on a Ubuntu screenshot that grub does not show the version number at the top of the OS selection screen and I wondering how they got rid of it.

I would like to remove that aswell as the text below too where it mentions Press e to edit etc, also the box around the OS selection if possible, something nice and clean.

use grub2 gfxboot http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=56576
I'm using grub1 gfxboot.
