iwl3945: Radio disabled by HW RF Kill switch
iwl3945 0000:05:00.0: PCI INT A disabled
It has been a long time i have been trying to do something about this "HW RF Kill switch". My laptop has no special radio on/off button. When i first bought this laptop i had successfully used the "Fn+F6" combo under Windows to turn the radio on and off, the LED worked and everything was fine. With Linux (various distros and more than a year now with Archlinux) this button combo doesn't work whatsoever...
Any ideas? One clue i have gotten is i could install Windows, turn the HW switch on with Fn+F6 but this doesn't sound the most decent way to do this, plus i am not sure that i will ever be able to turn off and on the radio under Linux.
Thanks in advance, and i hope with your aid i will overcome this *big* issue...

What drivers have you tried to install?
Have you tried:
# pacman -S iwlwifi-3945-ucode
Did you check the wiki?

The firmware is there, as dmesg reveals
I have tried every trick in the book... Now what i will do is try with the latest kernel RC.

with 2.6.30 still the same peoblems, i suspect some unsupported controller or some malconfigured bus, which doesnt let the on off button work...
