Hi, i have a creative zen x-fi which i can't open with exaile. Since the libmtp version got updated to 0.3.7 it works ok and mtp-detect finds it. I can make it work with banshee but not with exaile. I think the problem is with the pymtp package. This is what i get when running exaile and trying to open the mtp-device
Using multimedia keys from: mmkeys

Has anyone managed to solve this?
Thanks

The problem is that libmtp changed around its API, and pymtp hasn't updated to use the new API. As far as I know, there is no workaround for this at the moment, short of rewriting pymtp.

Ok i've also tried the python commands coming with the pymtp source and had exactly the same seg than with exaile. I'm going to try to post it to pymtp site, just in case someone already did, you're still on time to stop me before my login there is confirmed by admin

News incoming! The gpodder team managed to make a patch to make pymtp work with new libmtp version. I tried it on gpodder and exaile and both worked with a Creative Zen X-Fi. Big big kudos to Jérôme Chabod, who has made (at least) one person really happy. The site in question is: https://bugs.gpodder.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307
