tilda with xfce and compiz fusion

Hi all,

I have this weird thing with tilda going on. Since a few days I've been using compiz fusion and tilda randomly "freaks out" after being started a few minutes, it's display goes white/grey-ish. It only does that when i re-open tilda with my ~ hotkey.  So, everything that used to be in the black terminal (default font colors, etc..) is not visible any more..

It still does work though (tried with running du -s -h /*, and HD says it's active ;-)). I can close it by right clicking and selecting close tab. When i start it again (alt-f2, tilda) it will work for a small time again..

This behaviour only started since I'm using compiz fusion. I tested with kde4 (compiz fusion enabled), same issue. without compiz fusion, tilda keeps working correctly..

My versions: (the most recent that are in arch at the moment)
tilda: 0.9.6-1
xorg-server: 1.6.1-1
compiz-core: 0.8.2-1

my .xinitrc:

numlockx &
compiz ccp &
emerald --replace &
exec ck-launch-session startxfce4

Can anyone recommend my next step? Or confirm the same behaviour ?

and after:

cheers

I don't really have a solution for you, but I can say it's pretty much always done that. You might wanna try qcon + urxvt. It'll give you the behavior of qcon with a more compatible console.

Okay, will settle with that or yakuake for the time being..

On the other hand, what place should I report this as a "bug" ? Is it compiz or tilda related? (or nvidia? tongue)

cheers,
Kristof

Re: tilda with xfce and compiz fusion

There is no default key I think. If you run stjerm, then you need to run "stjerm --toggle" to make it appear/disappear. You can also use the -k argument to specify a certain key.
