Cannot install Xorg

Hi,

I just installed ArchLinux using the FTP method on my 32 bit dell latitude D 505 laptop.  I installed xorg using pacman. I also installe xf86-video-intel. Then I installed hal and restarted it and finally when I write startx, it shows that X server is not running at all. I don't have Xorg.cong created at /et

You don't need an Xorg.conf per se - not anymore.

What you do need it check /var/log/Xorg.0.log for errors

grep EE /var/log/Xorg.0.log

and post the output here. Make sure you have the xf86-video-vesa driver installed too, that's probably what it's choking on wink.
