Hey, just posting cuz i cant get compiz-fusion to run properly.
ive installed compiz-fusion and compiz-gnome and now when i try to run fusion-icon, the screen flashes white, and my titlebars disappear.
Ive looked around on google for solutions to this issue, but i cant find any that have worked.
im using an nvidia graphics card, and have the proprietary drivers installed.
any ideas?

Open up the Compiz Fusion settings and enable window decorations. You might have to enable Move Window and Resize Window too among other things.

Thanks, only now, when I make any changes in the settings window of compiz, nothing takes effect... any idea on how to fix that?

Post the output of
compiz --replace
And check if you have installed compiz-decorator-gtk and enabled the decorator plugin.

There is a problem if the compositing manager of metaciy (gnome's wm) is enabled.
Try disabling it: start the gconf-editor and disable the following key:
/apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager
