Hi.
I want to buy a small photo camera, Canon PowerShot A470. I want to ask, if someone have that camera, and will I bi able to mount it using usb cable, to downlaod my pictures. I have no card reader, so I will not be able to download the pictures directly from the card. Is someone haveing troubles with that camera?
I checked this on the wiki, but when I looked at the list of supported camers, the A470 model was not on the list. Any information will be useful
Thank you.

I'm sure it will work... my digital cams aren't in that list either yet they work

Canon Cameras mostly use PTP, some models support both PTP and usb mass storage modes. For PTP you'll need to use gphoto2 (digikam, gtkcam, f-spot etc for a GUI). I'd say chances are good that the A470 is already supported by gphoto2, the preceding models are all listed and maybe this model just hasn't been added yet. All I can say that i was able to use gphoto2 with my A630 before it was explicitly listed. If the A470 supports usb mode you'll also be able to simply mount it. PTP might also give you remote controlling features, given your model provides them.
