CUPS/printer problem

Hi

System : Arch64, KDE4.2

Installed CUPS, and defined CUPS-PDF as a default printer.  Test page is printed (well .... a file is created) with no problem.

Problem : I can only see the printer in Konqueror.  Firefox only shows me a "print to file" option, and OO Calc only show me a "Generic Printer" option (Status = Default printer, Type = SGENPRT).

I need that CUPS-PDF printer in other programs also, and any help will be appreciated.

Ben

Re: CUPS/printer problem

this is not a direct answer to your question, but:

openoffice has a dedicated "export to pdf" button
and in firefox you could try the "printpdf" addon, works great for me

Yes ... I know.  But I would rather concentrate on ONE printing option in ALL applications, then start using each application private methos.
Not to mention that sucj a workaround may not be an option with some other application.
