'xv menu' and 'xine menu' problems in awesome

Here is the problem:
1) xv is opened correctly (I configured it as a floating application in my rc.lua configuration)
2) when you click the right-button the menu shows correctly as a floating window.
3) If you press the right-button again to hide the menu. It get hidden but never shows up again.

It's the same thing with the xine control menu. When you press "g" the menu displays OK but if you hide it and try to show it again. It simply won't work.
