After spending the last couple of days messing around with OpenVPN to work in bridge mode, I've made a wiki to help other people.
I assigned a couple of variables in /etc/rc.conf - I hope that's not against the Arch way of doing stuff. And I could use some help on my /etc/rc.d/openvpn to make it more elegant (see my note in the wiki)
Let me know if it works or doesn't work for anyone else.

. /etc/rc.conf
. /etc/rc.d/functions
I get permission errors when i run those.... Any clue why?

Specifically network device variables aren't really a big deal in rc.conf, that's where they're supposed to go. If there were any specific openvpn variables, they probably should have gone into /etc/conf.d/openvpn.

The wiki.archlinux.org/blah just redirects to wiki2.archlinux.org now.
Any chance of working up a good host to host vpn how to? I have been looking at different tunneling stuff lately, becuase I want to tunnel XDMCP. XDMCP uses UDP, so I cannot use stunned (SSL) or ssh port forwarding (SSH). Both SSL and SSH are TCP only. :?
So, it looks like I am down to some type of vpn. I have started looking at ipsec, but haven't gotten very far yet..
I did find something interesting called "Zebedee".
http://www.winton.org.uk/zebedee/
That might be enough for my needs.

There are other similar projects:

http://vtun.sourceforge.net
though I've never tried them...
And about vpn docs did you check these webpages?
