PDA continuously connecting & disconnecting

Hi All,

just tried hooking up an old Dell Axim x30i pda, and whilst it appears to be recognised ok (I haven't actually tried syncing it or anything yet), it seems to continuously connect & then be disconnected for some reason.

dmesg | tail info:

ipaq 2-1.3:1.0: PocketPC PDA converter detected
usb 2-1.3: PocketPC PDA converter now attached to ttyUSB0

messages.log is filled up with repeats of the above. Could someone explain why this is happening please?
