[solved] zdoom stutters

I'm using a R300 card and I suspect that it has to do with the upgrade of ati-dri from 7.4 to 7.4.1 since I didn't experience that before. Every few seconds zdoom will seemingly halt for a split second and then continue on as normal. It's as if it was queuing up work until the queue is filled and then it processed the queue in one go.

Apparently I had about 20 instances of conky running.
