mpd doesnt run any more

after the last time i did a pacman -Syy , mpd doesnt run, if i try to run it i get the following message.

[mark@markspc ~]$ mpd
mpd: error while loading shared libraries: libfaad.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[mark@markspc ~]$

libfaad is installed, so i dont know whats goin on.

[mark@markspc lib]$ ls /usr/lib/libfaad*
/usr/lib/libfaad.a   /usr/lib/libfaad.so.2
/usr/lib/libfaad.so  /usr/lib/libfaad.so.2.0.0
[mark@markspc lib]$

a newer version of the file exists, can i just copy the new file /usr/lib/libfaad.so.2 to usr/lib/libfaad.so.1?

edit: never mind, i copied that lib across and mpd runs now.

That's strange, there is no libfaad.so.1 here and MPD works fine. Are you sure you're using the latest version of MPD?

im using which ever one is in the repos

[mark@markspc ~]$ mpc version
mpd version: 0.14.0

0.14.2 is in the repos
perhaps you should 'pacman -Syu' instead of 'pacman -Syy'

lol , i did do -Syu, i misstyped it when making the thread.

pacman says i have the latest version, but who knows llol

least ts all working now, so i dont really care
