Starting X with KDE dsables keyboard and mouse completely

I just got around to re-installing Arch, and have hit an issue I can't figure out. I installed Xorg, configured xorg.conf, rc.conf, and .xinitrc. I then installed KDE and set it to start at boot in .xinitrc.

Now, the second my KDE login screen pops up, my mouse and keyboard stop functioning completely. Since I can't Alt+f2 to get to a virtual console or anything, I have no way to look into my config files to see what the problem might be.

Since I know its the starting of X or KDE thats disabling my keyboard and mouse, I need a way to stop them from loading automatically at boot, or somehow skip to a command console before they load.

Boot in single user mode, and fix whatever needs fixing. Read the wiki page about xorg for more details on your particular problem.
