wmii, lastfmproxy, and mpc

Hello.
I am playing music through mpd and lastfmproxy.
I would like to display the current song in my dmenu bar.
The conventional mpc method only gives correct information about the first song.
And curl localhost:1881 doesn't do anything nice either.
What else could I do?

have you gotten it to work when playing 'normal' audio, like mp3s?

Yes, with regular mp3s mpc displays correct track information.

i bet it's a problem with the mpd plugin, most likely since it isn't a new track, mpd, sees it as only a single song track and updating while playing doesn't result in an update in mpd.  ie. nothing you can do without hacking mpd / lastfm plugin.

I was thinking of retrieving a title of http://localhost:1881 (lastfmproxy web interface), but I can't get it with curl.
