As usual we discuss everything related to the Arch Linux Newsletter here; articles, contributions, and suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
The newsletter sets a new standard for quality with every release, we try to deliver a newsletter that is more user/community-centric. All this is possible thanks to the awesome team we have for the newsletter.
Special thanks to the community, for giving us the motivation to continue doing this.
Thanks,
In the name of the Arch Linux Newsletter Team,
Ronald van Haren

Nice job man, an excellent newsletter, I enjoyed reading it myself, is the first time since I took the leadership of the newsletter that I have had the pleasure of reading the final only and after it was released to the users.
Sorry guys, I did not have time this month to do anything for the newsletter, but just send recommendations of things to post to Ronald, but as you see, Ronald handled everything very well.
Thanks again guys.

Might I ask for a layout which doesn't scale with screen width? It's quite long lines here...
PS: Nice stuff, still reading through it though. I enjoyed reading about go-openoffice, didn't know about it, currently downloading to test

setting a maximum width could be a good idea. We'll take it into account and see if we can come up with something for the next newsletter.

There's a typo in the Expand your knowledge section : "MulitTail" should be "MultiTail"
Great job once again guys ;-)

The link "listen to their hard drives" in the fun section is broken if the user is not logged in the forum.
Thank you for the newsletter and the tips!

yeah it is a known 'problem'. I have yet to find a way to tell that those links to offtopic are only available if you're logged in to the forums without getting in the readers way. I should give it some more thought but proposals on this are very welcome.

Thanks for your hard work!
It's a good collection of news while at the same time I learn some new stuff.

The Arch newsletter is always something nice to put away my work for and just read through it.
Thanks for your work and for seamlessly taking over whenever a member of the team temporarily lacks time...
About iotop: this might be what I'm looking for to monitor my HD usage. The cpu and ram on my laptop never seem to get fully stressed and yet a simple pacman -Sy takes 1.5 minutes. Seems like a very useful tool to add to my conky scripts...
Zl.

You can use a footnote.

mmm yeah, that is probably the best way. Let's see if I can find some time soon to implement it in the template I use so I don't forget about it.

Please make that optional. The current layout works well with the look and feel of the main site.
Nice work again gentlemen.
archlinux - please read this and this — twice — then ask questions.

as I said we'll discuss it for the next newsletter. AFAIK making a layout optional is not possible with plain html so in the end we probably have to choose between the two

plain html
Ah yes, I didn't think about that. I can always just disable the stylesheet.

Hello pressh and kensai, it is nice to go thro' the new letter. I like the Tips and Tricks part which will help to dig back the things
correction required part: Under Expand your Knowledge : it should be itop and not ltop

I think is is a written as a capital i in the newsletter if I'm not mistaken, so that should be correct.
glad you like the newsletter
