The issue is like this... about a month ago, when i start the pc, and login in console, when i "startx" sometimes dwm (or X I don't know) simply hangs, i see a blank (dark) screen and no matter what i press it doesn't come back
it also happends, whenever the kernel updates, that the first time i "startx" (after I reboot with the new kernel), the screen turns black, and dwm doesn't show up, making it unresponsive, and the only way to fix it is with a hard reset
other times, i simply leave the computer for a moment, and when i come back i find it that way, no matter what i press, it doesn't respond...
It's an MSI Wind netbook, intel 945 graphics card

Did you manage to solve this? I'm having the same problem

The strange thing is that Libby and I both have identical Acer Aspire One's and while mine has been fine, her's has been hanging upon login at random intervals. However, in her case I am able to fall back to another tty, kill X and then re-login again without problems. We have identical configs, right down to running dwm...I'll see if I can find something that sets them apart.

well i workaround it... i reinstall and use Arch Rollback Machine, and set it before the 7.4 xorg upgrade, then i installed everything... so im using an outdated system, but stable... it's the only "solution" that fits my needs... maybe until the 2.8.0 intel drivers go out, or a newer kernel, i don't know...
all other workarounds, and xorg.conf's configs, make some things work like vga output (important to me), but get lockups, or viceversa... so i'll stick with this for a while
