[solved](not related to) ABS - syncing stuff that hasn't been updated?

Hi!

Why does abs often seem to sync stuff that hasn't been updated (at least the packages)?

- Is it only giving me "random output" when I type "abs" (it's not all packages, but it's not only updated ones either)?
- Are the abs files updated more frequently as the pacman packages (could building them fix a bug I still have with the pacman version)?
- Uhm... huh?

Thanks!

Re: [solved](not related to) ABS - syncing stuff that hasn't been updated?

(Not that much... should it output a full list of all files every time?

I just removed the /var/abs directory and had it run again: the list was 12191 lines long which is about 10 times as long as earlier today. 2 days ago it was around 8000 (didn't sync for a few days before) But I've got no idea how it's supposed to be working.

I haven't really been looking at the output length very often, mostly I just noticed that the longer it's been since I last ran abs, the shorter the scroll-bar's screen-sized-thing gets.)

EDIT: Playing around with rsync, I think I found it: my (x)terminal seems to be swallowing lines if it's very fast . Guess that's why there's more text if I wait longer to sync / delete the abs folger: it's a lot slower if there's more to download. So, that's got nothing to do with abs, sorry.
