xv makes seg fault

I am using xv for displaying photos. Displaying is not a problem. But  trying to take screen shot with it make seg fault.  Any solution? (I will try to recompile this utility mean while)

xv is shareware and hence  I believe no replies to this post. I have switched to imagemagick and scrot.
