When I try to do an Edit/Preferences in Evolution, the program crashes. It worked before the latest update.
Here is the command line output. I would appreciate a fix.

Search (and Google) are your friends. This happened to me, a quick search led me to this thread. Basically, you can downgrade gconf (and metacity/policykit-gnome), or you can try to manually edit your gconf as indicated towards the end of the thread.
Remember, search (and Google) are your friends.

for evolution, it's those 3 keys (same as nautilus, no schema provided):
gconftool-2 -s -t bool /apps/evolution/mail/composer/magic_smileys false
gconftool-2 -s -t bool /apps/evolution/mail/composer/reply_start_bottom false
gconftool-2 -s -t bool /apps/evolution/mail/composer/top_signature false
You can change in the edit/preferences/composer windows.

The latest update of gconf 2.26-1-2 (on 5-12-2009) seems to have fixed this issue. I am now able to change preferences in Evolution.
I did not have to downgrade the packages. I did not do the gconf edits as suggested previously in this thread.
I am marking this problem solved.
