mpd+icecast reduce latency

hey guys,

i just got icecast working with mpd. works great. is there anything i can do to cut down the latency as low as possible?

im trying to stream to all the rooms in my house at the same time. and its a lot simpler (and more stable) doing it this way than the pulseaudio way.

is there a way to disable all the encoding? i would assume the bulk of the latency happens there but im not sure. i just started using this so im not really sure.

thanks.

Re: mpd+icecast reduce latency

heres my icecast.xml file:

    <limits>
        <clients>100</clients>
        <sources>2</sources>

        <client-timeout>30</client-timeout>
        <header-timeout>15</header-timeout>
        <source-timeout>10</source-timeout>
        <!-- If enabled, this will provide a burst of data when a client
             first connects, thereby significantly reducing the startup
             time for listeners that do substantial buffering. However,
             it also significantly increases latency between the source
             client and listening client. For low-latency setups, you
